We are a friendly, ambitious technology company and we are currently looking for an Commercial Lawyer / Legal Managerto join our team. The candidate will work reporting to the CFO and will be based out of our London office in Canary Wharf.

The Commercial Lawyer / Legal Manager role

We are looking for a specialised technology commercial lawyer to handle legal matters and projects. You will be responsible of the customer, partner and supplier contracts, ensure the legality of commercial transactions and advise our company on legal rights and duties.

Being a supplier of financial services software to emerging countries, our deliveries need to comply to local regulations. You will make sure we are informed by our customers and partners of the regulatory requirement and you will seek to get information directly from the regulators and ensure the company has considered those regulatory aspects that have an impact on our deliveries.

The Commercial Lawyer / Legal Managerresponsibilities

  • Consult and handle all commercial legal processes (regulatory compliance, agreements, disputes)
  • Develop company policy and position on legal issues
  • Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks related to local regulations in the countries where we deliver our software or services.
  • Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
  • Structure, draft and review reports and other legal documents
  • Draft and administer customer, partners and supplier contracts
  • Assist the sales team in negotiating deals with customers and partners

  • You should be a qualified Lawyer in UK with proven experience in the softwaresector
  • Knowledge of the financial software sector or emerging markets is a plus
  • Abackground in contract law, tax law, accounting, licensing and related topics
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills
  • Analytical ability and strong attention to detail
