Braintree are growing and are seeking a passionate geek to embrace the challenge of helping merchants and partners move to the latest and great payment technologies.

You will be part of a lean but dedicated and talented Solutions Engineering nucleus - serving a 15+ sales team that covers 39 countries in Europe. The team is currently based in London, so the expectation is that the candidate will be in London too. Occasional UK and European travel (plus a week or two in our Chicago HQ) is expected – but don’t expect some office-bound 5-day-a-week placement when not traveling – it’s all about getting the job done, and not the hours worked.

Job Description:

Job Requirements:
  • Being the voice of both the business and the customer.
  • Being a thought leader in payments and FinTech both internally and externally.
  • Being an internal expert and champion for Braintree and PayPal technologies and products.
  • Engaging with internal Product and Strategy stakeholders to inform and drive the needs of the region.
  • Assisting the sales team with product up-skilling as well as on actual customer engagements.
  • Assisting customers with the implementation of the right Braintree and PayPal solutions for their needs.

Experience required:
  • Previous experience in commerce, fraud and/or payments is essential.
  • Typical previous roles could include 2nd or 3rd line support, software, web, full stack development, technical consultancy/professional services.

Skills & Abilities required:
  • Competency in web technologies (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Angular, Node, Java, PHP, .NET etc).
  • Native mobile (iOS, Android) development experience a plus.
  • Experience with APIs and SDKs – either consuming or building (or both).

Knowledge required:
  • Payments processing knowledge (online or offline) is essential, along with some tangible experience and passion in some area of commerce (e-commerce, fraud protection, loyalty schemes, etc).
