The Role
You will join a Legal & Compliance Team that helps our business to achieve its tagline of “Let’s Make it Happen” by finding new ways to keep compliance and legal processes simple. You will get the opportunity to work directly with our Legal Counsel to build a culture of compliance in a business that puts ease of use at the heart of everything it does.

You will also coordinate our compliance monitoring and, with a good eye for data, you will improve our systems for monitoring AML compliance. Working directly with our Legal Counsel you’ll get the chance to develop your drafting and advising skills by responding to queries relating to lending agreements and security documents.

You will also play a vital role in preparing our business for GDPR. You will get the opportunity to work closely with our Tech, Product and Marketing Teams to find ways to incorporate data protection into the way we build our services and products.
You will have a good knowledge of financial services and you should have some experience or knowledge of AML compliance. This role does not require expert knowledge of these areas and you will be trained by our Legal Counsel on any relevant areas of law.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring AML compliance
  • Creating training and policy materials for AML, data protection and other legal topics
  • Triaging legal queries and identifying priority issues
  • Drafting and reviewing lending and security documents, under supervision of Legal Counsel.
  • Assisting with administration within the Legal & Compliance team.
Requirements:
  • Law degree;
  • Professional qualification (LPC, BPTC, CILEX or foreign equivalent) or can demonstrate equivalent work-based professional training.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience of law relating to financial services (in-house or law firm)
  • AML or Data Protection experience, preferred but not essential.
